The Kentucky Trailblazers club started their annual wagon train on Monday, October 1, 2012 from the club campgrounds just south of Shelbyville, Kentucky. The 2012 version of the wagon train was scheduled to spend one week covering the approximately 100 miles of Kentucky back roads from Shelbyville to the Fall Harvest Festival at Renfro Valley. Then, the group planned to spend one day resting in Renfro Valley before hitting the road again and spending another week going south to the annual Daniel Boone Festival in Barbourville, Kentucky. Everything went according to plan and there were only a few problems encountered along the way, but each was able to be handled quickly. The number of units varied each day from 15 to 25 wagons. A few riders slept right in their wagons, but most moved their trailers up at the end of each day's ride. Your photographer traveled the entire way with the group and had a great time. The only disappointment for me was the weather which was all over the board with cold rain and overcast on several days making it very difficult to take quality photos. I still took over 5,000 photos during the week of which several hundred can be viewed by clicking on the links below. Photos from days 1 thru 5 cover the trip from Shelbyville to Renfro Valley, Ky. Day 6 displays photos taken around the grounds at Renfro Valley. Days 7 thru 12 cover the trip from Renfro Valley to Barbourville along with rides and the activities we saw in the area around the Barbourville/Knox County area. Finally, day 13 has photos taken on the final day of the trip when the group participated in the annual Daniel Boone Festival parade through the town of Barbourville, Ky.
